5 Expectations for Personal Conduct. My thoughts on Work Ethic and Team Values.

When I start a project, I always like to just quickly let everyone know how I like to work. This video outlines my five principles for personal conduct both in the office and just in life in general.

  1. Show up on time
I want to work with people who motivate themselves to be there and I try my best to be one of those people as well. Its a sign of respect and shows a commitment to the task at hand.
  2. Know your sh#t
When you show up on time, come prepared. When presenting a topic based on your responsibilities, be ready to give an unvarnished assessment of where we are at and what needs to happen next.
  3. Contribute to the project
When you bring a group of people together to do something, the collaborative effort is what makes it become something special. Share when asked, ask when no one shares and be ready to help carry the project forward.
  4. Do what you say you’re going to do
When you make a commitment, do your best to make it happen.
    Be dependable.
    Build trust.
And increase your opportunities in the world and the workplace.
  5. Communicate (early & often)
Define what you need to succeed and don’t be scared to ask for help. If you’re in charge and things are moving, give an update in all of the channels that different team members look at so that everyone can stay aligned.
